Entertainment

 

The Jeep Compass's award-winning Uconnect system provides connectivity, security, and safety features. It includes Bluetooth streaming audio, available Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, optional SiriusXM Satellite Radio, and Siri Eyes Free. Uconnect also integrates with the Compass's available audio system choices, including Alpine Audio, BeatsAudio, or an 825-watt Harman Kardon system with 19 high-performance speakers. Uconnect works with your smartphone apps and functions as a Wi-Fi hotspot.

 

Other optional Uconnect features include SiriusXM Travel Link and Traffic, a Monthly Vehicle Health Report, remote start and climate control, and SiriusXM Guardian for roadside assistance and theft alarm alerts.

 

Interior

 

An adjustable three-level rear cargo floor combines with 60/40 fold-flat rear seats and a fold-forward front passenger seat to offer flexible cargo-hauling configurations. With the seats up, there's plenty of room for five passengers. An optional 12-way adjustable driver's seat features 4-way lumber adjustments for maximum comfort. Safety

 

Safety is a Jeep hallmark. In the Compass, it begins with a safety cage body structure built of high-strength steel to manage energy in a collision. To avoid getting into collisions in the first place, a 4-wheel antilock braking system with Rain Brake Support gives the Compass great stopping power. Optional Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross-Path Detection provide additional safety. Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go helps to make commutes safer and less stressful.

 

Technology

 

The Compass packs an extraordinary amount of off-road technology into its compact form factor. A crawl ratio of 20:1 lets the Compass climb steep and rugged terrain with ease. Step up to the Trailhawk trim level and the Compass gains Jeep's Active Drive Low 4x4 system, which can handle any conditions the terrain might throw at you. It also gives the Compass additional low-speed power and towing capacity.

 

Performance

 

Under the hood, all Compass models feature the 2.4-litre Tigershark MultiAir inline four-cylinder engine. This powerplant balances power with fuel efficiency. It generates 180 horsepower and 175 lb.-ft. of torque, while still achieving some of the best fuel economy ratings in its class.  In fact, in 4x2 configuration the Compass is rated as low as 7.3 L/100 km (39 mpg) on the highway, and 10.4 L/100 km (27 mpg) in the city. Transmission choices include a six-speed manual, a six-speed
automatic, and a nine-speed automatic.
